Digital Defence Ecosystem - DDE - is a Patria, VTT and the Finnish Defence Forces initiated, and XD Solutions coordinated Ecosystem for Finnish Defence Industry Companies, Technology Providers including SMEs and start-ups, Academia, and other Finnish Defence Stakeholders to enhance the competitiveness of Finnish Solutions in global defence markets especially in European and NATO context​. The ecosystem’s operations are financed by member organisations and Business Finland.

DDE aims to boost business growth of the Ecosystem members. DDE combines different stakeholders and provides a joint avenue to develop innovative solutions, by maximising efficient utilisation of both National, European and NATO linked funding instruments (e.g. EDF with an ambition to gain the Lead Nation status)​. DDE aims to enlarge the use of fast developing civil technology in defence solutions​, and ultimately increase the defence related business of Finnish companies outside Finland​. The ecosystem has received Business Finland's Growth Engine status.
